The Christmas Tag!

With it being December 1st I decided I might as well start the month with a Christmas themed post. It seems everyone is well into the Christmas cheer and spirit already! So far I'm not feeling it, I think this is due to not being at home and having so much work on. So lets begin the Christmas tag and see if it lightens my mood ey?

What time of year do you start your Christmas shopping?Usually I start buying small bits in September, this always means I end up with more presents for people than I expected to buy. It does mean I'm usually done by the start of December though. This year I only have my mam left to buy for and she says she doesn't want anything!

Do you have any festive recipes for food or drink, you limit solely to the Christmas season to share?
I usually only make shortbread around Christmas any other time of year I just can't bring myself to make it, I also add cinnamon to everything around Christmas it just makes it so much better! I won't eat certain foods unless it's christmas though, such as turkey and pigs in blankets, you can't eat those when it's not Christmas!

Tell me how Christmas goes down in your home
Oh my family love Christmas. Our tree is usually up by the 15th of November (my mam's one of those people) Me and my sister usually wake up early and end up sitting around waiting for mam to get up, we let our pets open their presents then we open ours and mams last. We then spend a few hours getting dressed and such before we head to grans house for more present opening and food. We spend the rest of the day there before heading home for Christmas movies and party style food. We always visit our dad a day or two before Christmas where we swap gifts and watch films.

Do you have any Christmas traditions?
We always go to see dad a couple of days before Christmas. We also spend Christmas eve with our Gran helping her out with preparation. The past few years we've started a new tradition of having a Mcdonalds on Christmas eve because we never have anything but Christmas food in, we also have the tradition of an early present on Christmas eve which is always a new pair of pjs.

Do you have a favourite festive coffee?I don't like coffee but I do like adding a hint of cinnamon to my tea during the festive season.

Do you have a favourite Christmas song?
I'm one of these people that don't really listen to Christmas songs, I find them extremely annoying and tend to get sick after a few days.

What do you do on Christmas Eve?
I always go to see my gran, my sister usually comes along too. We help her with preparation and often bake and then spend the afternoon reading and relaxing. Our mam usually picks us up and we have a take away or mcdonalds before getting an early present which is always pjs haha.

What's your Christmas wrapping strategy? Do you have a strategy?
I always leave my wrapping till a few days before Christmas, I always have one roll of paper for adults and one for kids. I'm a sucker for pretty designs.

What's your dream gift this year?I'd love a new camera, and I happen to know Santa's already got me one! I'd also love my Download Festival ticket deposit to be paid.

Describe your Christmas tree. How tall? Real or artificial? How is it decorated? Our tree is my mam's work of art. We're forbidden from touching it or anything, it's always immaculately decorated, it often takes her around 6 hours to do. It always looks nice but looks like it belongs somewhere like John Lewis etc not a front room. Mam doesn't allow us to have christmasy decoration but fashionable ones, we also have several artificial christmas trees. We have a black one, a cream/gold one, a white one and an old green one somewhere. The decorations depend on what colour scheme she decides on that year too. Basically our mother is obsessed with her tree, we daren't even touch it haha.

Do you decorate just the tree or other areas of your house, e.g. windows, bannisters?
Along with the tree we usually have some tinsel around the curtain pole and some lights in our outside tree. We have small pieces like a plastic stag and such.

What do you wear to Christmas parties and what do you wear on Christmas day? Christmas parties I love a nice dress usually in darks. I love tartan and velvet for Christmas wear. Christmas day I often wear something I've just been bought. I like to look nice and often forget to dress for comfort.

I guess I'm now feeling a little bit more in the spirit of Christmas. I'm sure once we finish on the 13th I'll be super excited and you won't be able to shut me up about Christmas!
Are you in the Christmas spirit yet? Have you done the Christmas Tag?
