A Playlist For This Week.

Recently I've actually been listening to new music for once! I know I'm in shock too haha. After just one morning of listening to Scuzz I went and downloaded a hell of a lot of new music. It was clear at this point also that I will forever be pop punk/emo trash no matter how much metal I enjoy this will forever be my favourite haha. Anyway here is what I've been listening to a ton recently and why..

Honey - This song is so bloody catchy, I've never really listened to Moose Blood before and just put them down as 'one of those new pop punk bands that are probably a bit shit' how wrong I was. They're super catchy bastards and actually have some pretty decent songs. Honey is probably my favourite so far, it makes me want to do that little pop punk sort of bop about and to sing super loud when I hear it.
Favourite lyrics - It's in the back of my mind, but it's worse when I sleep. Now I'm losing my breath & I'll never understand how you could forget me.

Keeper - I'd never even heard of this band until I heard this song and to be honest I haven't listened to much else by them but I'll probably give it a try. It reminds me of a lot of songs I loved when I was about 15 like everything about it makes me feel nostalgic which is weird since it's a new track haha. Plus the singer is a little bit of a cutie.
Favourite lyrics - And I dive so deep, into my brain I can't sleep.

Crave - Another band I'd never heard of until hearing this song, they kind of remind me of Son of Dork or that other band that were similar but I can't remember the name of. But like that typical adorable boy band type look trying to look pop punk ish? I dunno, anyway apart from the awful autotuney bit I really like this song. I've hummed it a lot recently and it's really annoying once I've heard it cause I can't stop singing it.
Favourite lyrics - I wish I could forget you, but it's out of hand.

This is Gospel - Since seeing Panic! at Slam Dunk I've pretty much listened to this song on repeat, words can't even describe how perfect this was live. It was just so beautiful, I actually teared up a bit. It's on of my favourite songs to sing in the shower 'cause I feel like I can sing it in a really dramatic way tbh. I'm pretty much a strict Fever fan and hated most of the stuff that came out after aside from the odd track and Death of A Bachelor but this song is just so beaut.
Favourite lyrics - Cause these words are knives that often leave scars, the fear of falling apart. And truth be told I never was yours. - fyi these are perfect to sing dramatically in the shower.

Living Is A Problem - I recently bought Puzzle on vinyl and it's made me just fall back in love with Biffy and Simon's voice and I honestly forgot how amazing this song was. How I did is beyond me but I did. Everything about it so good and the lyrics are amaze and I love Simon's voice in it so much. I love how it sounds as a song, like I don't know how to describe it but just everything about it is perfect, like I feel like when I sing it I can only do it passionately and I don't feel like I have enough time to sing it I need to just get it all out haha.
Favourite lyrics - I pray to God that you're right before my eyes, bathed in white light with halos in your eyes.

The (shipped) Gold Standard - I think by now everyone knows I'm a ridiculous Fall Out Boy fan girl and I listen to them so regular it's gonna be a massive shock if I don't include them in a playlist tbh. I'd like to point out that this is one of the only redeemable songs on their worst ever album. I'm not even sure why I like it so much, I heard it back in Februrary and it caught me off guard and I've loved it since and every time I hear it I just feel so happy.
Favourite lyrics - I wanna screm I love you from of my lungs, but I'm afraid someone else will hear me.

Ocean Avenue - This song is an actual classic I was recently super shocked to find out half my friends had never heard it like how?! What did you do in 2003?! What did you listen to?! This song is so nostalgic and hearing it at Slam Dunk made me so happy and since then I've just wanted to listen to it so much more and it makes me just want to dance about my room haha.
Favourite lyrics - There's a piece of you that's here with me, it's everywhere I go, it's everything I see.

There's A Class For This - I heard this so many times at Slam Dunk, and I forgot how much I loved it. It's so catchy and I sing it for days after I hear it. Again what did you listen to in 2006 if you've never heard this song?! Did you just skip emo/pop punk?! How can people not have heard this.
Favourite lyrics - Drama doesn't follow me, it rides on my back.

Best Of Me - Even more nostalgia right here, I think I might be going through a quarter life crisis or something with all the pop punk I'm listening to at the minute, especially all the older stuff. This is another song I can't understand how people haven't heard it. Slam Dunk made me go home and find my old ipods and listen to all the stuff I used to love and this is one I've missed. This is so classic pop punk though, the lyrics, the guitar and the hair in the video man.
Favourite lyrics - Here we lay again, on two separate beds riding phone lines to meet a familiar voice and pictures drawn from memory. We reflect on miscommunication, and misunderstandings and missing each other too much.

So this time I have a ridiculously pop punk playlist but I kinda really don't mind that at all 'cause lets face it pop punk is pretty dece. I might start sharing playlists that make me feel nostalgic 'cause surely there's people who remember the same songs I do and my friends don't right?

What makes you feel nostalgic? What've you been listening to recently?  K. x
