Some of my favourite records..

For years I've wanted to own a record player but I've never really had much room for one and I've always been a little poor to buy records however this year my dad got me one for my birthday and since then I've ended up with 20+ records. Lets put it this way my birthday was back in March so yeah I've got quite a few records in a couple of months haha. I thought I'd share a few of my favourites with you all though, it's not only listening to them that I love but how pretty some of them look.
Life In The European Theatre
This record originally belonged to my dad, he then gave it to my uncle who gave it to me which is pretty cool. What I really like about this record is that half of the royalties went to projects against nuclear arms, the whole album is filled with bands like The Jam, Echo &The Bunnymen and The Clash, you get the idea. It's a pretty cool record to put on in the background but mostly I enjoy it 'cause of how old it is and how its kinda been passed around my family.
Nightmare Anatomy
This album makes me feel so ridiculously nostalgic, theres only about 400 of these pressed and I'm forever happy I have one. This album is just so solid, I loved every song on it, it takes me right back to being 13. I love how the vinyl itself is baby pink, its such a stark contrast to the music. If you're into your emo /alt rock and haven't heard of Aiden you've got to go check them out. This record is perfect for those days where I need something a little heavy.
Awesome Mix Vol. 1
This is hands down probably my all time favourite film soundtrack. If I'm feeling sad I can just pop this on and within a few songs I'll be pure happy. It's filled with so many feel good songs like Come &Get Your Love, Ain't No Mountain High Enough and Hooked On A Feeling. It's seriously just a perfect album for a shitty day cause it makes you smile, plus Guardians Of The Galaxy is one of the best films EVER.
The Sound Of Music, OST.
Do I really need to give a reason for this one? The Sound Of Music is one of my favourite musicals, I remember watching it when I was super small and loving everything about it, when I was like 8 my gran bought me it for Christmas on DVD. We did it as a drama show in school, everything about it I love and it holds a lot of memories. My gran happened to have the original soundtrack on vinyl from when it came out, the sleeve is well worn which obviously shows how loved it is and I'm just super grateful that she gave me it.
Puzzle
Finally we have what is probably my favourite vinyl, it's actually beautiful. When I got my record player I knew this was one album I needed to rebuy on vinyl, much to my heart break it was a fortune everywhere since it was limited. However I managed to find one and I pretty much sat by the door waiting for it, I spent forever looking at it once it came because the inside is beautiful all the artwork ever. I mean I love the album itself it's forever my favourite by Biffy but the artwork and detail in this is what makes it one of my favourites.

So there we have my favourite records, are you shocked I didn't include any Fall Out Boy? Cause I am haha, but seriously these records are amazing and if you haven't heard any of them you've really got to give them a listen.
Do you have a record player? If not would you get one?

  1. Oh my gosh you have the Sound of Music haha! That's so awesome...and random compared to the others. I went through a right phase in my early teens with vinyl. I got all my Mam's from her (the Jam, the Clash, Sex Pistols etc) and think there are even probably still a couple JEW ones in the cupboard at home.
Your little record player looks fab aswell, such a great size instead of the massive contraption I had.
